Apple vs. Samsung

Nowadays, there are real battles on the smartphone market. Two leading companies, Apple and Samsung, have a serious contest in order to win maximum users. They release high-tech products one by one: iPhone 5, iPad mini from Apple’s side and Galaxy Note II from the Samsung Company. Moreover, there are a lot of rumors around the next expected products. For example, Apple promises to release a mini and a budget version of iPhone 5, and also a smartphone with a large display seeming to be a significant rival to Samsung Galaxy Note I and Samsung Galaxy Note II.

But high technologies aren’t the only weapon Apple uses against Samsung. You’ve surely heard about many lawsuits Apple has filed against Samsung accusing it of copying design of Apple products. By this, Apple started a real patent war. Apple claims that a lot of Samsung smartphones and tablets look like Apple products and wants to patent this appearance. However, many of these special features Apple claims to be unique are really obvious for mobile devices. How can you imagine a smartphone not being quadrangular or without a large screen? Apple’s lawyers seem, however, not to realize this fact, prepare further lawsuits, and try to block sales of Samsung products in different countries of the world. It should be mentioned, too, that many Samsung devices suffering from Apple’s patent claims do really have additional features not presented in Apple products. For example, there are additional screens, or physical buttons, or slide-out keyboards. But of course, there are common features, too, which are typical for all mobile devices. It remains unclear whether they will serve as reasons for lawsuits. Besides, other companies create smartphones being serious competitors to Apple and Samsung products.
